Gosh Makeup review

I had recently received some bits from Gosh cosmetics (* a heartfelt- Thank you to the team*) and so I thought I should pop on here and review them.

I’m actually new to the whole Gosh cosmetics brand and haven’t particularly tried and tested much and so receiving this PR package was very exciting!

So without further ado lets get into what I thought of the products..

1: Gosh eyeshadow Quad -003 urban nature

Now for some this quad maybe out of their comfort zone but for me it was fantastic! why? because I love my green and blue shadows and so this quad has some of my favourite colours in a palette. We have that matte warm orange-y brown shade which is amazing as a crease  colour as well as on the whole eyelid for a neutral brown eye.

Also just to mention all shades are matte except the shimmer pale shade.

The green and blue shades are fairly pigmented but can be built up and do blend out well on the eyes. They also have added a beautiful pale golden shade as a a shimmery highlight and this compliments my skin tone as opposed to a white highlight shade. Perfect for the inner corner, brow bone or as a eyelid topper for some shimmer or halo eye shadow look!

In terms of formula, they swatch nicely but aren’t the softest shadows I’ve used. Nonetheless they perform well on the eyes and if you like any of the quads, Gosh makeup has to offer then this will be a good travel palette too.-Just wished it included a mirror- but we can’t get what we all want can we!!?

There are 4 different quads to choose from, so maybe there’s something for you..

However I do like to be honest and add that I did feel like this palette for £9 is quite pricey and so be sure to check them out in store and maybe feel the consistency on the testers.Like I mentioned before there are definitely more pigmented and softer shadow available at more inexpensive price.

You can purchase these at www.superdrug.com for £8.99

2.Gosh CCC highlighter/contour

Now i’m obsessed with highlighters as it is  and so when I saw the Gosh ccc contour stick I was slightly concerned about its name. I immediately opened it and swatched it on my hand. Creamy, bronze-y gold sheen- definitely a highlighter!

The shade of the one above is 002 Golden highlighter. And so I have come to know that there are actual contour and skin tone highlight shades in this range which I’m sure would be amazing if the consistency is as creamy as this highlighter. I like the way you can just draw some on the desired areas of the face and blend. This chubby Stick style highlighter will be particularly convenient for the   inner eye corner highlight and brow bone highlight as  you can place it precisely where you want. This ccc highlighter also comes in a paler champagne shade so you can pick up what suits your skin tone.

Also unlike some cream highlighters, this formula isn’t too creamy to where it can take off your base. If you prefer you could always dab some on your finger and blend where required.

This can be purchased at www.superdrug.com for £9.99

3.Gosh Lumidrops Illuminating Blush CoralBlush 010, Pink

This liquid blush immediately reminded me of the infamous Daniel sandlers watercolour blush that I’ve always wanted to try but didn’t come round to purchasing  because of the price because I have so much blush! lol.

However I do understand that these claim to be highlighting drops rather than blush as they claim that:

Lumidrops is formulated with light-reflecting pigments that illuminate the cheeks, leaves the skin refreshed, enhances the natural complexion and gives the skin a dewy finish

These lumi drops do come in the usual champagne, bronze and a few other shades. However I was sent the shade 008 rose blush which is more of a blush shade. I felt like this shade was very natural on the skin providing a slight sheen with very little colour.

I feel like this product is for the faint hearted when it comes to highlight as it will only provide a subtle sheen and colour to the skin. It almost mimicks the skins natural dew providing some illumination and radiance to the skin- perfect for no makeup-makeup!

I also feel like the colour will show up more on paler skin tones and on my medium skin it is only slightly noticeable..yet still very beautiful. For it’s maximum effect I like to use my fingers and build up the intensity on my cheeks by layering the product a few times.

It is a very watery consistency and I felt that my fingers worked best for application as with a brush I felt like the product went patchy and didn’t blend properly.I do find that the other shades in the highlighting lumi drops will be great to apply before foundations for a  more natural dew to the skin or even mixed in for a lit within subtle natural glow.

This can also be purchased at www.superdrug.com for £8.99

4. Gosh matte liquid matte lips

And lastly one of my favourite products- Liquid lipsticks. I know that these are quite a recent launch to Gosh cosmetics and so very excited to try them.

(From left to right : Chinese rouge 004, candy floss 001  & berry me) NB- The lip swatches were taken immediately after application , and I do feel that these shades appear darker once dried down.

Lip swatches– candy floss 001- A pale pink shade, which upon application seems to be too light for my nc40 skintone but seems to be a beautiful pink nude once dried down and even beautiful if paired with a darker lip liner.

Chinese rouge 004 – A coral- orange and red tones leaning more coral. Beautiful for the summer. Very bright and vibrant shade.

Berry me 006- a plum/berry shade upon application which dries to a deeper purple-y plum/berry  shade which I really enjoy. Not too dark and very wearable. -My favourite of the 3.

Upon application these Gosh liquid lipsticks feel creamy and comfortable on the lips. The lipsticks are quite pigmented and apply in full opacity with almost 1 coat. The doe-foot applicator is effective in evenly applying product to the lips.

The only downside to these are that they do not dry completely on the lips and do feel slightly sticky even after they have set. If you were to press your lips together they stick together which some people may dislike. However they don’t suck the life out of your lips like some liquid lipsticks do and you immediately need to apply gloss or remove it completely.Phew!

Personally in my opinion, after thorough use of these liquid lipsticks, I felt that they do feel more comfortable after about an hour of wear and I did go about my day without even feeling them on my lips. I also found them to be very long wearing and wore well even after eating and drinking. I wore the plum/purple shade berry me (which is my favourite!) for up to 7 hours and after eating and drinking there was only minimal fading in the inner rim of the lips as with all liquid lipsticks. However they didn’t become crumbly like some liquid mattes.

There are 8 shades in total to choose from, and they range from nudes, pink, corals to reds and berry shades and so something for everyone.

These can be purchased at www.superdrug.com for £8.99

And so that’s it people…..I’m really enjoying the brand and now very eager to try their base products as I’ve heard nothing but high praise about their foundations, setting powders., primers etc..Please do let me know if there is any must have Gosh makeup that I need to try!

p.s Superdrug are currently having a buy 1 get 2nd half price on selected Gosh here so you can save a few pennies!

Until next time, i’m signing off..
