Something that gives back colour, warmth and dimension to your perfected flawless base has to be blusher (and bronzer). And so when there’s blushers claiming to be lasting for 8hrs I’m all about that.
I must admit that when I recieved these beautiful blushers in the post I was ecstatic.
The packaging looks very luxourious as depicted in the picture above. It is designed beautifully with a shiny sleek gunmetal square packaging- perfect to slip into your makeup bag. It feels very sturdy as does with most Urban decay packaging. I find that the colour shown on the packaging is very true to the colour of the blush in the pan. Moreover you can even see the colour through the see-through fish net UD cut-out on the lid- So you can see the colour without opening it as Urban decay put it. Definitely a luxe product- would be perfect as a gift for someone!
Urban decay after glow blush in bittersweet
Urban decay’s after glow 8 hour blush in the shade video* is a warm brownish/dusky nude tan shade (with slight pink/rose-y undertones which shows up when applied on the cheeks) and almost like a bronzer-blusher shade. I love it for warming up the skin tone and like to use this concentrated more on the back of the cheek bones for some definition. It gives warmth to the skin and perfect for when you don’t want to over power the look with bright blusher shades because you have dramatic eyes and or a bold lip. This blush is definitely more flattering on the face than upon swatching it. However a point to note is that it may not show up on deeper skin tones as it is a medium shade and not too pigmented.
Urban Decay after glow blush in the shade Bittersweet
This next blusher that was sent to me was Urban decay’s after glow 8 hour blush in the shade bittersweet*.
There is honestly nothing like this colour in my collection. My jaw dropped in excitement when I saw this shade- it is such a unique shade that I totally fell in love.😲 It’s a beautiful purple shade and purple-y pink when sheered out and applied on the cheeks.Regardless of how it looks in the pan it is such a wearable shade and I have been using it constantly since I have received it. It is so pretty when applied lightly on the cheeks and gives a gorgeous flush to the cheeks and will be amazing in the winter months to come.

Does it live up to it’s claims?
It most definitely is long wearing. ..after 6 hours of wear it wore of slightly but a slight stain remained behind when I was to remove my makeup,- and that was at the 9 hour mark!
The key points to note about these blushers are that they are very finely milled and applies and blends beautifully on the skin. It doesn’t apply patchy on the skin and looks smooth and streak free.
What about the lit from within claim? I’m not sure, I would think a product that is described in this way would give a glow or some kind of a sheen (for example like the Hour glass ambient lighting powders)and as both the shades I now own are matte I don’t see that. However what I do agree with is that, as it blends nicely onto the skin, it almost melds into the skin- making it look like your cheeks are flushed as opposed to the ‘I’m wearing blusher’ look…and that is were the pigmentation aspects comes in. I find these blushers to be pigmented but not to the point were a tiny dot paints your cheeks purple.
From the 2 that I have I feel as though bittersweet is more pigmented than video. However even when applying bittersweet to the cheeks the brush picks up the perfect amount of blusher, with minimal fall out and gives the cheeks a soft focus effect , almost blurring out your imperfections and so that’s were I agree with Urban decay’s claims that it has ‘light diffusing pigments to enhance the skin’. You can build up the intensity to the desired look you want very easily which I think is fantastic. This really shows the quality of the powders which is what you want when buying a blusher for £19.
In conclusion I believe that for the packaging, quality and moreover variety of unique colours offered by Urban decay it is well worth investing in one. Also especially because they are long lasting, I think you could treat yourself to one so that you use for only special occasions.
I think they are beautiful blushers and contemplating on whether I should purchase quickie…it’s a gorgeous hot fushia colour and I think it will look fantastic sheered out as an everyday blush 😆
Have you tried any? what your thoughts?
