So what’s your all time favourite lip stick/balm/stain? The lipstick that you reach for over all your high end lipsticks and from your high street lipstick collection? The lipstick you carry in your handbag and have in your drawers….There must be that one lipstick that you keep back ups of because you know that it looks beautiful on you, compliments your skin tone and you can wear with almost any look….well mine is a high street budget balm stain and that’s —drumroll—-💄👌 Revlon’s just bitten kissablebalm stain in lovesick.
The colour of the lipbalm stain, it’s longevity, staining properties and most significantly the fact that it feels so comfortable on the lips makes it the lipstick/lip balm that I reach for the most. As it is described as a balm it is very moisturising but not too glossy like a lip gloss and the finish is similar to a cream lipstick.
With this specific colour- lovesick – a warm toned fushia pink…-It is so versatile and can be adapted to so many makeup looks.
For example In my ‘no makeup makeup look’ I can just add a dab on the lips and it will give a – your lips but better look- and moreover stain the lips making it actually seem like my lips are just pretty and pigmented….
The second lip swatch above is a taken after atleast 6 hours of wear and I had been eating and drinking at the wedding that I attended. Still some lip colour on the lips…which was fantastic!
I could also go full on and build opaque coverage on the lips and have statement lips and rock a bright pink colour that suits my olive skin complexion and not worry about it feathering or fading and go about my day eating and drinking and definitely know that I will have some colour left on my lips at the end of the day. ..So Perfect for weddings and parties!!
It’s one of those lipstick that you don’t really feel after application and only when you look in the mirror again do you remember that you have such a strong lip colour on.
I even love to use it as a base for other lipsticks that are not as long lasting and apply this first and then the darker lip colour on top so that the longevity is extended and as my darker lip colour fades I am left with some colour on the lips.
Moreover I can even use light nudes on top of the Revlon lip balm in lovesick to make the nude lipstick suit my skin tone better.
And so all in all a fantastic must have lip product that I see myself always using!! if you havn’t tried it then give it a go and let me know what you think….
The Revlon kissable lip balm retails for £7.99 and cheaper if on for 3 for 2 and actually on sale at Boots for £4 at the moment.
In my opinion I would want to conclude that from all the highstreet crayon style lip balms- as each brand now has a similar line of lip balms, Revlon have just aced it and this is one is hands down, the best of the bunch and guess what I’ve tried them all…:) hence why I’ve created this blog post now…
