Stop makeup meltdown?: answer is Urban decay’s All nighter makeup setting spray

I’m not sure whether you saw my recent haul from were I hauled the Urban Decay all nighter makeup setting spray! And so today I’m sharing my thoughts .. I really don’t know why I had waited this long to try it….Also as it’s kind-of summer (you can’t predict UK weather lol) here now in the UK,  it’s a perfect time to use these kinds of products to prevent make up meltdown & creasing.(I’d rather wear no make up at all than have it all smeared on my face!! 🙂 )
In terms of make up, one of the most important aspects I look at in a product is how well it performs and how useful it is and so to have a product that helps prolong wear time is a definite must have in my make up collection! After reading this on feel unique’s site I was sold and had to try it….
Mist on this weightless spray to give your make up serious staying power. Urban Decay All Nighter Make-Up Setting Spray keeps your makeup looking gorgeously just-applied for up to 16 hours —without melting, fading or settling into fine lines. The result? Smoother-looking skin and vibrant makeup that lasts all day (or all night).
I have tested the product for over a month now and love everything about the product and believe it definitely does deliver as it claims. It also supposedly has a micro fine mist spray which I was keen to test out-
Unlike similar products on the market, the Urban Decay All Nighter Make-Up Setting Spray delivers a microfine mist that goes on so light, you’ll hardly feel it — and once you’ve applied it, you won’t even know it’s there. If you’ve tried other setting sprays that feel sticky or tight on your skin, you’ll be AMAZED by how different this is. Beware of imitations!                                (~ taken from
The packaging of the product is very thin and compact which I like. There is a small lid on the nozzle and there is also an outer lid as well making the product very well sealed.
The spray nozzle allows the product to dispense a  nice fine mist on the face and I enjoy that even after 3-4 spritz, your face is not drenched with product preventing your make up to move around-  This is because of the micro-fine mist and it didn’t even smear my non-waterproof mascara or budge any of my makeup. (I’ve done this before with other sprays and had panda eyes 🙂 learnt my lesson and there after always use the spray and then mascara but I just wanted to test this spray and now can use this as the last final step.!)
In comparison, the Mac fix plus dispenses way more product and a few sprays can make your face wet! I understand this product is for a different purpose but just for comparison the Urban decay’s nozzle spray’s a finer mist and you don’t really need to wait for it to dry.
I purchased the 30ml travel size bottle which retails for £9.00 which I think is a reasonable price, especially because it works so well and I only use it on days that I really want my make up to stay on (long workdays, occasions, parties, hot days etc~)and so I would definitely say it’s totally worth the money paid! Definitely grab it if your getting married or attending a wedding as this will seal all your makeup in place!
Now on to the how well the actual product works?>Below is a study shown on how well the product claims to work.
In a 7-day clinical study:
– 78% of participants said All Nighter helped their makeup last for 16 hours.
– Over 80% said their makeup not only looked better, it stayed on better (even in the T-zone) without settling into fine lines.
– Whether they had combination, oily or dry skin, 88% or more said All Nighter was the best product to help their makeup last.
After reading the clinical study, I thought I should test it for myself.
The first day: I tested it as follows:
No Urban DecaySetting spray
10:00am- applied my make up- used Loreal matte primer & Loreal infallible matte foundation, applied medium coverage using 1 and half pumps/pea size – A long lasting foundation, wears well for about 8-9 hours and then starts to fade.
6:00pm- checked back, foundation starting to fade around the nose, forehead and skin- freckles showing  through
10:00pm- Almost all foundation had disappeared- not fresh…needs to be taken off-
So in total got 8-9 hours of wear of the foundation.
Next day I tested it:
with Urban Decay All nighter makeup setting spray
10:00am – applied foundation like the previous  day, same foundation etc
6:00pm- Foundation still looks pretty much flawless, no fading- no touch ups required,  could go out like this
10:00pm- Foundation still intact, little bit of fading but still looked good
So after applying the Urban decay All nighter Setting spray,  I got almost 12 hours of wear from my make up which is fantastic!! and could of wore it for longer so the study showing that it  helps your makeup to past up to 16 hours is most probably true….
Also another tip is if you want eXtra staying power then apply the spray before your makeup on bare skin and then spray once again when you’ve applied your full face of makeup. I’ve seen makeup artists do this for brides to really make sure their makeup is budge proof! 🙂
And so I honestly agree to the claims that this products aims to deliver. I purchased it off and also found that:
Developed in an exclusive partnership with SKINDINAVIA, this groundbreaking, clinically tested formula is suitable for all skin types and features patented Temperature Control Technology. Yep, this baby actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to keep foundation, eyeshadow, blush and concealer in place — even in hot and humid or cold and windy conditions.

So guys a definite must have product, will definitely be present in my collection permanently- will get lots of use from it in the summer months when I need my makeup to stay. Also will be great especially if your travelling to a hot country, the 30ml travel size will be perfect so I highly recommend.

And just to add the site offers great service and super fast delivery so that’s great!

Have you tried this? Let me know on your thoughts or if there’s anything else you recommend I should try!
