Star Product in skincare: Alpha- H liquid gold

Today’s topic is on one of my ‘must have’ skincare products, Alpha H Liquid Gold. As the name suggests this product is definitely worth gold in my skincare regime.

I initially ordered this from QVC  last year and fell for the fantastic offer it came with as I purchased the liquid gold, and with it  came a hydrating moisturiser, cleanser, and cleansing oil. The set was a fantastic deal as it cost me £31.50 (postage £3.95) and usually the liquid gold 100ml alone retails for £31-ish (prices vary). I also could take the advantage of sending the products back because of the 30 day money back guarantee ( I think the only place in the UK that does this with makeup & skincare!!) and had the opportunity to try a few other products from the line (which were also brilliant) so I took the plunge and purchased it.

It is currently on offer on QVC for £30( postage £3.95) for two bottles(100ml & 50ml).;0 and there is also a 200ml version available!

Great move. I am so pleased I did, because it’s a brilliant product. I knew it was a product that was perfect for my lifestyle….I have kids and so sometimes it can be a little daunting to use luxe skincare and facials (even though I love to and try my best too!)…especially when I’m constantly waking up at night, exhausted and just about take my makeup off ( and sometimes too tired to even do a full deep cleanse!).

The way in which you apply this product to the face is to just pour some of the liquid on a cotton pad  and wipe over the face after cleansing your face. It also suggests not to add any products over liquid gold once applied on the face which in my opinion is even better! and so it is recommended to use 3-4 times a week and so usually on these days I do a deep cleanse ( so that the product can penetrate skin deep and work it’s magic!)  apply liquid gold and jump into bed-  and snooze off  within a few minutes 🙂

The science behind Liquid Gold are as  follows which I took from Cult beauty’s site and is what sold to me purchase the product:

Starring nature-derived glycolic acid (it comes from sugar cane), this overnight treatment harnesses the cell-stimulating and exfoliating properties of alpha hydroxy acids, which melt the ‘glue’ that binds dulling dead cells to skin surface, revealing the healthy ‘new’ skin cells beneath. What’s more, by lowering skin’s pH (from 5.5 to around 3), this stimulates cellular activity – accelerating repair and renewal processes, as skin works hard to re-establish equilibrium. It bolsters synthesis of elastin and collagen (the ‘scaffolding’ that keeps skin firm), while penetrating deep within pores to eradicate spot-causing bacteria.

Also the problems I face with my skin is that I have a few small dark spots, very uneven skin tone and my skin lacks radiance and so when I read what the product promises to deliver, I was completely sold and had to try it:

while the resurfacing action also helps to diminish visibility of acne scars, dark spots and brown patches, so your complexion quickly looks more even-toned and luminous. A must-have for anyone concerned with skin ageing, sun damage or problem skin conditions – just build up skin’s tolerance gradually (to minimise redness). Apply with a dampened cotton pad, once a week for 2-3 weeks while skin acclimatises – then build up to 3 ‘neat’ applications a week, for maximum anti-ageing and skin-brightening benefit.

So after reading it’s claims another  reason why I was so pleased with how well this product performed is because you have many products that work temporarily to even skin out ( how many products do really work like they claim!!?!?) or give an instant brightened look but because this is a type of chemical exfoliation I believe that persistent use over time will definitely improve the skin permanently.

I understand this product has AHA’s/ glycolic acid and liquorice extract and find the whole chemical ex-foliation innovation fascinating and rather genius. It is almost like a serum/water facial because of the clear liquid like consistency of the product which doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It is so effortless, no need to wash off after a few minutes or hours and your waking up the next day with renewed fresh skin.

Liquid gold did definitely make a difference to my skin. The first few weeks were major changes which then subsided but overall feel it definitely has helped with improving my skin’s texture (not that my face skin is rough but the day after use, it definitely feels super soft)and it does look more radiant and even toned in the mornings.

Also a point to note is that when you apply liquid gold on the face you do feel a mild tingly sensation which maybe uncomfortable for some, but I actually enjoy the sensation as I feel like the product is actually doing something and eating away dead cells on the face and hope that I’ll achieve a more radiant and even complexion in the morning. It definitely is a mild sensation so anything that feels irritable ( as the sensation does go away after a few minutes) or painful is not normal so maybe you are sensitive to it so stop using it and find out what the problem could be….

Liquid gold is also supposed to help in diminishing fine lines, wrinkles or removal of blackheads and after using it for well over a year now I have not noticed a significant difference ( I have purchased a second bottle and very much loved as the picture above shows and didn’t take a picture when it was new as I didn’t have a blog at the time:).  However it definitely has helped in the more significant needs of my skin which is  dullness, hyper pigmentation, uneven skin tone and blemishes and so will continue to use it.

So guys, if your looking for a sleep in facial that will help brighten your skin and revitalise it then give this a go! it is definitely a cult product for a reason and totally worth the price! definitely highly recommend!

Thank you for reading x
